Meanwhile, in the US, some consultants have been warned about the “up or out” policy, where they must secure a promotion within a set timeframe or leave. This shift follows McKinsey's recent strategy change after years of aggressive hiring and low attrition, including plans to cut around 1,400 roles last year.
